investigate和survey都可用于调查人或物。
investigate 指查明犯罪、事故或科学问题等的*。也指因可能牵涉犯罪而调查某人的性格、行动等。
survey 常指问卷调查中，通过询问被调查者多种问题来获得他们对某事的看法和态度。也可指审视某人，或是为欲购房者提供房屋鉴定的调查，也指测量，勘测某地，用来绘制地图。
