1、fit to be the right shape and size for sb/sth (形状和尺寸)适合，合身
（1）I tried the dress on but it didn't fit well.
（2）The key doesn't fit the lock.
2、suit especially of clothes, colours, etc to make you look attractive 特别是服装、颜色等相配、合身
i don't think that coat really suits you.

所以，前者，侧重于形状和尺寸，物理上的合适；后者，是感觉上的合适。

固定搭配：suit sth. to sth./sb.(使适合、适应某事物、某人)

fit多体型适合。*室叫fitting room
suit是款式或气质上适合追问不是在表示衣物上的合适与否时呢？就是适合某事物的时候有什么区别吗？谢谢！

追答我的理解是fit永远是物理的，物质上的适合。
suit是指气质，地位这种方面的适合。
