Why should we protect wildlife animals?
Do you know of any endangered animals? Why are they in danger?
I think there are many endangered animals in the world, such as tigers and pandas. When farmers cut down trees, tigers can no longer hide and hunt. Many tigers are killed by people who want to sell their fur for money. And there are few places where pandas can live. We are not alone in the world. We human beings could not live without all the plants and animals around us. So protecting wildlife animals are very important. We must take measures to keep plants from being destroyed and stop animals from being killed. If each of us can plant a tree and build a birdhouse, the world will be more beautiful. It is very easy but useful.

The giant panda is a member of the bear family found living in the mountains of Southwest China. The species has become one of the world's most threatened animals with less than 2,500 alive in the wild today. Much of its habitat has been destroyed because of human construction, leaving the pandas struggling to find food. Humans are partially responsible for the dwindling population of the giant panda, and now need to help protect them from becoming extinct.
We can help protect the giant pandas by:
1. Protect their Habitat
One of the best ways humans can protect giant pandas is by preserving their natural habitat. Giant pandas need to live in forests that provide them with their primary source of food--bamboo. But one of the problems with the bear's food source is that bamboo dies after it flowers, leaving nothing for the pandas to eat. Therefore, pandas need to constantly migrate to find new patches of bamboo. But as people continue to develop more land, it is becoming more and more challenging for the bear to find food to survive.
Fortunately, the Chinese government has already worked to set aside nature preserves in areas where bamboo is abundant. In addition, "bamboo corridors", or strips of land, have been created so that the bears can roam freely from one area to the other. Conservationists hope this will help the pandas find mates more easily and repopulate its species.
2. Repopulate Giant Pandas in Zoos
Another way to help maintain the giant panda population is by mating the species in zoos. While this may not be the ideal habitat for the pandas, it ensures that the giant panda will never become completely extinct. This is very important, especially as smaller populations in the wild are at a greater risk of inbreeding. According to the World Wildlife Fund in China, inbreeding can lead to serious genetic problems within the species such as reced resistance to disease, less adaptability to environmental changes and reproctive problems. However, in a zoo, the panda can mate in a safe and controlled environment under the supervision of trained zoologists.
3. Donate to a Conservation Organization
One of the best ways you can help giant pandas is by donating money to a conservation fund. For example, the World Wildlife Fund works to increase the habitat area for the giant panda and create more bamboo corridors for the pandas. Similarly, the Giant Panda Conservation Fund uses donations to help protect the habitat of the giant panda and also participates in research to better understand how to reintroce pandas into the wild after they have lived in captivity.
