any other的用法，是指在同一范围内除了某人或某物以外的其他人或事物，any other后跟单数名词，也可以说any of the other+复数名词。如：

1,Tom runs faster than any other student(或any of the other students)in his class.

汤姆比他班上的任何人都跑得快。

2,Shanghai is langer than other city in China.

上海比中国的任何一个城市都大。1、当想表达总体中剩下的一部分时，要用“any other +
”。如：

*Have you got any other questions? 你还有其他的问题吗？
——表示总体中还有一些问题可能没有提到。

* His other books are still in storage. 其他的书他还没动。
——表示所有的书已经读过一本或几本，还有一些没有动。

2、当想表达与已知的一个或一些不同的时候，要用“any other + 单数名词”。如：

* He is taller than any other stufent in his class. 他比班里任何一个同学都要高。
——表示与已知的一个（指 he）不同。也就是说，已知的he与班里的其他同学逐一进行比较。

* Any other person would tell the truth. 别人一定会说出*。
